In the spring of 2001, we returned to Spain and began our first summer in the Mediterranean from there.

We traveled from Spain's Balearic Islands to the coast of France, along the French Riviera to Italy, and down Italy's coast to La Spezia. From there, we sailed to Elba (Italy), and then on to the island of Corsica (France). From Corsica, we traveled to Sardinia (Italy), Tunisia, Italy's Pantelleria Island, and finally to Malta. Swept Away spent the winter of 2001-2002 out of the water in Malta, and we spent the winter at our home in the United States.
